Nandini Somaya Sampat is the director of Mumbai based multi-disciplinary architectural practice Somaya & Kalappa Consultants (SNK). In her talk she explains the thought process on how to unearth the power of coworking and future workplaces to help the community to connect, assist and enrich in imaginatively solving critical problems at work and life. The talk stressed on the fact that millennial’s require open spaces that are agile in nature and that the demand for custom-made, shared spaces has increased.
Research-based architecture is the foundation upon which Nandini works and she believes that it allows for new techniques and ways of building. Upon completion of her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Smith College, USA, she qualified as a solicitor from the College of Law, London. She then completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design from the Inchbald School of Design, London and her Bachelor of Architecture from Rizvi College of Architecture. Nandini is the award recipient of IGEN (Innovation Generation) 50 award in 2013 that felicitated the top 50 next-generation architects and designers.
