Tacarra Lake shares her experience in teaching kids in Lebanon and how education in emergencies work. Tacarra is the Program Officer for Education at the Santa Fe Council on International Relations. Raised in Los Lunas, just south of Albuquerque, Tacarra attended the University of New Mexico and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies. She spent two years living in the Balkans, studying post-conflict reconstruction, particularly the Bosnian education system. In 2017, she earned a Master of Arts degree in global studies from Missouri State University, where her research focused on «education in emergencies» and she volunteered as an English teacher for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. At the Santa Fe Council on International Relations, Tacarra is excited to work with local Santa Fe high school students and introduce them to the exciting world of international affairs.
