A bill proposed by Republican lawmakers in Florida would eliminate the state’s drop boxes for mail-in ballots, as part of a package to tighten voting restrictions in the state, as Florida appears to follow the national GOP push to tighten ballot access even though Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis had praised Florida’s election process as the “smoothest” in the country.
