Lorenzo Maggiore, inventor of the Bug-A-Salt, a toy gun designed to kill flies with a burst of salt, launched the business in 2012. After raising nearly $600,000 through an Indiegogo campaign that first year, the company sold 50,000 units. Last year, the company sold 750,000 units, bringing in north of $20 million in sales.
