What do you do when you are told constantly that you are not good for anything? Do you let those comments weight your down, or do you take the bull by its horns, accept it as a challenge that it is, and show the world how resilient you are? Andrew Fleming tells how the systematic bullying at the hands of his peers and teachers acually sowed the seeds of determination in him. He is now his own strogest critic, as it helps him turn the situations around by the resilience he has built in himself. Andrew Fleming has made himself a familiar name in the city of Hyderabad, thanks to his wholehearted mingling and participating in the local customs and celebrations. A strong believer in the power of community, he has lent his voice and support on projects on interfaith, countering violence against women, human trafficking, child sexual abuse, fake news and youth empowerment, apart from his role as British Deputy High Commissioner Hyderabad to promote business and trade between the UK and India’s Telugu region. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
