Former Thai Prime Minister urges a redesign of rules governing data, competition laws and intellectual property rights protection to enable technology to become a force for equality. Abhisit Vejjajiva is the former Prime Minister of Thailand from 2008 to 2011. Born in the United Kingdom, he attended Eton College and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Oxford.

He began his political career in at the age of 27, when he was elected a member of Parliament, and became the leader of Democratic Party in 2005. He later became the country’s youngest Prime Minister in 60 years in 2008, at the age of 44.
