Stories are powerful. They educate us, take us new places, and can even cause us to question what we think. But how you receive or believe them, all depends on who’s telling the story! In her talk, Dr. Sharoni Little shares that as we interrogate stories, we have to caution against what Chimamanda Adichie calls, “The danger of a single story.” Dr. Little further examines how singular, rigid, and constraining stories about people, places, and perspectives can marginalize, dehumanize, and make others seem invisible. Such stories strip people of their humanity and worth.
