The U.S. Senate narrowly passed a $3.5 trillion spending blueprint along party lines early on Wednesday after a marathon voting session, in a major step forward for Democrats’ plan to enact sweeping expansions of the various social security, health care and climate change measures while increasing taxes on wealthy Americans and corporations.
