This talk shares how to see beauty within ourselves, even as our bodies change throughout our lives. We can learn to see ourselves more fully, and believe in our beauty enough to believe others when they say they see it. How do we adapt to changes and continue to be our whole selves, while accepting what we may lose or have lost? Enjoy this heartfelt and reflective talk on what it can mean to hold a sense of inner and outer beauty, imperfections included, together with the well-being that comes from connecting and being our whole selves. Erica Steele is a business-owner, Master Esthetician and Cosmetologist who has worked as a Freelance Makeup Artist at New York Fashion Week. She believes that feeling beautiful comes from appreciating and honoring who you are, not from following trends or having the perfect body. An Army veteran, Erica has created a mastectomy resilience program for breast-cancer pre-vivors and survivors. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
