A small step towards an unknown acquaintance can broaden our horizons and enrich our lives. Dušan worked at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, but he came back to Slovakia to break down mistrust and prejudice among people by arranging intergenerational events and sessions which help to build community and humanity. We need just a little for building and keeping good relationships with our neighbours.
He studied law and devoted several years to legal translation at the EU Court of Justice in Luxembourg. In 2011, he founded the community project Neighbors in the Yard, which deals with relationships in urban neighborhoods. He deals with intergenerational dialogue and, together with Táňa Sedláková, he founded the civic association Zrejme (Apparently), which establishment was associated with the abolition of a hospital for seniors on Záhrebská Street. Dušan’s activities with the community are a great example of humanity and generosity. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
