Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated former Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) in Tuesday’s race for governor of Virginia, the Associated Press said, giving Republicans their first statewide win in over a decade following a tight and acrimonious race that turned into a referendum on the Trump and Biden administrations.
