Attorney General Merrick Garland has announced a sweeping federal probe into the Louisville Metro Police Department in Louisville, Kentucky, to determine whether there are systemic problems with policing there following the shooting death of Breonna Taylor in 2020—in what is the second investigation launched by the Biden administration over the past week into a police department responsible for the high-profile killing of an unarmed African-American in 2020.
