Students who were required to wear masks in school had a lower chance of contracting Covid-19 compared to those in schools without masking policies, two studies released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggested. Showing the divide along party lines, nearly six in 10 Republican parents opposed mask requirements in school compared to two in 10 independents and 4% Democrats. The poll surveyed 10,168 parents August 16-25.
