Moms, Dads, ever wonder why your teenager rolls their eyes every time you try to talk to them? Maybe you aren’t as cool as you think you are! In this talk, Terence Houlihan gives some reassurance, some insight and some laughs about the teen brain and how it navigates the world. Terence Houlihan (Educator)
Since 1995, Terence Houlihan has been a teacher, counselor, and administrator in high schools and higher education institutions in the NY Metropolitan Area. Currently, he is the director of a school-wide K12 counseling program in Westchester County and lectures at CUNY Lehman College’s graduate school of education. He has written blog posts, articles and textbook chapters on the teenage brain, parenting, and counseling adolescents. Terence has appeared on radio programs and podcasts and speaks to parents and teachers across the U.S. and other countries on parenting and brain-based interventions. He believes that we can change the paradigm, one teenager at a time. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
